sinking of submarine gate for slanting mold by EDM is extremely difficult and poor repeatability of set-up and dimension control. CNC electrical discharge machine allows to sink by Z-X or Z-Y numerical control with input of indicated angle.

FAIN CUTTING ... ELECTRODE ... SHAPE

If you make submarine gate by conical electrode or cutter, gate cross section is vertical oval for PL surface. Accordingly, the gate trace on part is illegible and plastic chips shall remain in the mold.
Electrode type [A] provide round shape and type [B] provide D-cut round by chord, with fine trace on part and without plastic chips in the mold.
